It’s FAFSA time!
There are major changes and improvements coming to the 2024–25 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form. As a result, the new form will be available in December 2023, not Oct. 1.
The launch date will apply only for the 2024–25 FAFSA form.
The changes to the FAFSA form for the 2024–25 aid year include
expanded eligibility for federal student aid and
a more streamlined application process.
All Senior students are encouraged to fill out and submit the FAFSA as soon as possible after it opens to be eligible for Oregon and Federal financial assistance to attend college. If you are not a US citizen, you will fill out the Oregon Student Aid Application (ORSAA). Many scholarships also require the FAFSA. You will need the following information and documents to complete the FAFSA for the 2023-2024 school year:
Create FSA IDs (username & password) for student and parents
Student and parents' Social Security numbers
Driver's license number
Alien Registration Number (if you are not a U.S. citizen)
2022 Federal tax information or tax returns, W-2s and other records of money earned for student and parents. (Note: You may be able to transfer your federal tax return information into your FAFSA using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool.)
